Calendula Flower

Benefits:
Many phytochemical studies have been conducted on this plant; animal studies have demonstrated the wound-healing properties of this plant, which supports the traditional use of this plant for various dermatological conditions. The anti-inflammatory activity this important herb exhibits is attributed to its triterpenoid constituents; however, it is thought that its flavonoid constituents also may contribute to this activity.
This herb has traditionally been used as an anti-inflammatory, vulnerary or agent to help heal cuts and bruises or similar injuries that break or damage the skin and has well documented antiseptic properties, used for eczema or atopic dermatitis and other inflamed lesions. Studies have shown that extracts of this plant have angiogenic properties or the ability to encourage the formation of new blood vessels.
German Commission E approved the use of this herb for internal and external treatments and externally for poorly healing sores. All these impressive properties makes this an excellent herb to include in our Phytophar™ BW proprietary complex.
